Lauren M.G. Burt

Lauren M.G. Burt, creator of The Art of Etiquette, is an anthropologist of modern day etiquette. She is the resident etiquette columnist for The Gazette, an etiquette contributor for dsm Magazine and the most recent etiquette columnist for Gannett publications.

Certified by the internationally recognized The Etiquette Institute, Lauren consults for businesses, organizations and individual clients including the Greater Des Moines Partnership, Des Moines Art Center, Drake University, Easter Seals of Iowa and various sororities and fraternities. Lauren also works with children, young adults and young professionals. She is the creator of the series, Little Manners: Everyday Etiquette for Children at Iowa Governor's Mansion, Terrace Hill.

In her community work, Lauren is past president of the Junior League of Des Moines, a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, a Business Record “Forty under 40” recipient and received the Lt. Governor’s Volunteer of the Year Award. In 2013, she was named Young Professional of the Year by The Des Moines Register and Juice. Outside of her position as Worldwide Communications Manager at Kemin Industries, she is an etiquette consultant promoting essential etiquette for everyday life.
